Matrix Reimprinting
A step beyond tapping
Change the way you carry the memories that still shape how you feel today, with a Registered Mental Health Nurse guiding every step.
What happens in a Matrix Reimprinting session
The aim is to help you explore the meaning of the experience, develop a kinder perspective towards yourself and work towards reducing the emotional distress associated with the memory.
You remain in control throughout the session, and the process is approached at a pace that feels manageable for you.
Settle
We start with tapping to bring your nervous system into a calm, relaxed state before anything else happens.
Revisit
You are supported to explore the memory gently and, within your imagination, connect with your younger self. This may involve offering reassurance, compassion and a sense of support that may have been missing at the time.
Reimprint
Old beliefs are updated and the emotional charge eases. You keep the same memory, but it no longer runs the show.
An example of Matrix Reimprinting
A child who felt abandoned might carry the belief, “I am not important.” In Matrix Reimprinting, the adult self can connect with that younger self, offer reassurance and help them experience a different sense of safety and support.
Matrix Reimprinting and EFT
Matrix reimprinting
What I'll usually reach for when a memory itself needs attention: an early experience still shaping a belief, a reaction or a relationship pattern today.
EFT
Brilliant for calming a feeling in the moment.
It's a little more imaginative than classic EFT, and for some people it goes deeper, faster. In practice, a session often moves between the two, and you don't need any EFT experience beforehand.
The Beliefs That Shape Our World
Our core beliefs can act like a pair of glasses through which we view the world. They influence what we notice, how we interpret our experiences and how we respond to situations.
For example, someone who has come to believe that the world is unsafe may find themselves constantly alert to potential threats. Even when they are no longer in danger, this pattern of thinking can contribute to feelings of anxiety and a need to stay on guard.
We all make sense of difficult experiences in our own way. Sometimes, the conclusions we draw about ourselves and the world can become deeply rooted, influencing our relationships, emotions and responses long after the original experiences have passed.
Worth
- I'm not lovable
- I don't matter
- I'm a disappointment
- I'm worthless
- I'm not clever enough
- I don't understand things the way others do
- The world isn't a safe place
- I always have to be on guard
- Bad things happen to me
- I'll get hurt if I let people in
Safety
Connection
- Nobody really respects me
- I can't trust people
- I have to be perfect or I'll be rejected
- Saying no makes me a bad person
Control
- I'm not in control of my own life
- I can't have what I actually want
- I struggle to let things go
- I find it hard to accept how things are
If one or two of these land for you, there's very likely a memory underneath: a moment when a younger you decided this was true, and in a sense is still living inside it now.

How can Matrix Reimprinting help?
Matrix Reimprinting is an approach that aims to help people explore the emotional impact of past experiences and the beliefs associated with them. Using guided techniques, it seeks to support a different perspective on these experiences and encourage more helpful ways of understanding ourselves.
It is not about changing the past but about exploring how past experiences may continue to affect the present. Everyone’s experience is different, and outcomes cannot be guaranteed.
What people bring to it
Difficult experiences can sometimes influence how we feel, think and respond to the world around us. Matrix Reimprinting offers a way to explore the emotional impact of past experiences and the beliefs we may have developed along the way.
People may choose to explore a range of concerns, including:
Relationship patterns
Old wounds or subconscious beliefs that keep showing up in how you connect with others.
Anxiety and low mood
Exploring experiences and beliefs that may contribute to feelings of anxiety or low mood.
Trauma, big or small
Exploring the emotional impact of difficult experiences at a pace that feels manageable.
Grief and loss
Including pregnancy loss, supported at a pace that feels manageable.
Phobias
Exploring the experiences, thoughts and feelings associated with fears and phobias.
Compulsive or addictive coping
Exploring emotional triggers and patterns of coping, while recognising when additional specialist support may be needed.
Chronic pain
Exploring the emotional impact of persistent pain and developing ways to support emotional wellbeing alongside appropriate medical care.
Physical illness
Exploring the emotional impact of living with physical health challenges and the stress that may accompany them.
Financial issues
Exploring beliefs and emotions that may influence your relationship with money.
Purpose and direction
Shifting the self-beliefs that quietly shape the choices you feel able to make.
A note on what this isn't
Matrix Reimprinting is a complementary approach that may help you explore the emotional impact of past experiences and develop new perspectives. Everyone’s experience is different, and outcomes cannot be guaranteed. It does not replace medical assessment, psychological treatment or other appropriate healthcare.

Why work with me
Alongside my EFT and Matrix Reimprinting training, I bring almost two decades on the front line of NHS mental health services. That clinical background means I know how to hold a session with care and pace it to you, not the technique.

More about Mandy
What is Matrix Reimprinting?
Matrix Reimprinting is a mind-body technique that grew out of EFT (tapping). It uses tapping to settle the nervous system, then works directly with a memory that still carries an emotional charge, updating the beliefs formed at the time so the memory no longer drives how you feel and react today.
What is an ECHO in Matrix Reimprinting?
An ECHO is the younger version of you held within a memory. In a session, you're guided to interact with your ECHO, offering the support, resources or understanding they didn't have at the time.
How is Matrix Reimprinting different from EFT?
EFT is ideal for calming a feeling in the moment. Matrix Reimprinting goes a step further, working with the memory itself when an early experience is still shaping a belief, reaction or relationship pattern. Sessions often move between the two, and no previous EFT experience is needed.
Do I have to relive the memory?
No. You revisit the memory as an image you can interact with and change, rather than re-experiencing it. You're supported throughout and only share as much as feels right.
What if I can't clearly remember what happened?
That's fine. Matrix Reimprinting works with how a memory feels for you, so it can still be used when the details are hazy or incomplete.
How many Matrix Reimprinting sessions will I need?
There's no fixed number. Some people notice a real shift in one or two sessions, especially with something specific and recent, while long-held patterns or past traumas tend to unfold layer by layer over several weeks. I'll always be honest about what I'm seeing, and we'll decide together as we go.
How long is a session and how much does it cost?
Sessions run for 60 to 90 minutes at a flat rate of £80, leaving time to settle in, work through what comes up and finish feeling grounded. Block bookings are £210 for three sessions or £400 for six.
Can Matrix Reimprinting be done online?
Yes. It works just as effectively over a video call as it does in person, so you can choose whichever suits you.
Can I have sessions if I'm under a mental health team or taking medication?
Yes. Matrix Reimprinting can sit alongside existing care, so keep taking any treatment or medication prescribed by your GP or psychiatrist. Whether you tell your mental health team is your choice, and we can talk it through together.
Is Matrix Reimprinting a replacement for mental health treatment?
No. Sessions are non-clinical: I work as a wellbeing, EFT and Matrix Reimprinting practitioner, so I don't diagnose, prescribe or change NHS treatment. If you're in crisis, contact your GP for more immediate support.
